Agaricus Blazei Mushroom Harvesting Technology

High-quality Agaricus blazei is a young mushroom that has not broken its membrane and opened its umbrella. Once the membrane is broken and the umbrella is opened, the quality of the product has declined. Therefore, when the fruiting body grows to 4~8cm high, the cap is thick and strong, yellowish brown to light brown in color, and the membrane has not yet broken, that is, the lower end of the cap has not yet separated from the stipe, it should be harvested in time. In early autumn, when the temperature is high, the fruiting bodies grow quickly and are easy to break and open, so they should be harvested in time, and harvested once in the morning, noon and evening every day. During the process of picking mushrooms, it was found that when the fruiting body reaches 2~-3cm, if water is poured again, the growth rate of the mushroom body will be accelerated, and some will rupture and open umbrellas overnight. The main reason is that the day and night temperatures are higher in early autumn, and the suitable growth time of fruiting bodies is longer. Therefore, attention should be paid to increasing the number of harvests. When harvesting in the evening, all mushrooms suitable for harvesting should be harvested, and some that are too small should also be harvested to prevent the umbrella from opening the next morning.
When harvesting, use a sharp blade to cut the mushrooms from the flat ground. After harvesting, dead mushrooms and various broken mushroom fragments must be disposed of in a timely manner to prevent the occurrence of diseases and insect pests. After harvesting, the mushroom foot pits should be filled and repaired with soil and properly compacted to induce the next batch of fruiting bodies to grow. In addition, it should be noted that most Agaricus blazei mushrooms grow in clusters. When harvesting, the entire cluster must be harvested and attention should be paid to taking care of the majority. You can choose to harvest the mushrooms that have half of the whole cluster meeting the specifications. Do not pick the big ones and leave the small ones. Because their hyphal conduits are connected, the mushrooms left behind after the hyphae are injured will turn yellow and die within a day, and will also bring up the young mushrooms on the side, increasing the loss. If necessary, use a knife to cut off the large mushrooms. As long as the skin of the culture medium is not damaged, the small mushrooms will generally not die. The harvested Agaricus japonicus should be dried in time and packed in sealed bags ready for market.
