How to Manage The Fruiting of Edible Fungi in August?
1. Early Autumn Oyster Mushroom
After the beginning of autumn, the management of early autumn oyster mushrooms should focus on the word "water": for conventional cultivation, the mushroom bags lose water seriously after fruiting, and water should be replenished by soaking or injection to obtain higher yields. If the biological efficiency of mushroom production is above 100, the mushroom bags can be cleaned and the next batch of oyster mushrooms can be transferred to fruiting management in time. For oyster mushrooms sown in September, the growth should be controlled as much as possible to allow the mycelium to mature further and accumulate nutrients to the maximum extent, laying the foundation for fruiting in October.
2. Enoki Mushrooms
Most of the Enoki mushrooms have reached the end of their fruiting period, and about 1/3 of them are still fruiting. The biggest difficulty in using cold storage to cultivate Enoki mushrooms off-season is water management. It is understood that the humidity in some places where Enoki mushrooms are grown is low, resulting in unsatisfactory yields.
There are two main problems: First, the main location for humidity detection is mostly at a height of 1.5 meters, while the temperature in the cold storage is high at the top and low at the bottom. Water is mostly used by sprinkling water on the ground, which makes the temperature on the upper floors high and the humidity low. Second, the current cottonseed hull raw materials are mostly large hulls and short lint, with low water absorption rate of about 30%, and poor water retention, resulting in "congenital deficiency" of water in the mushroom bags.
3. Button Mushroom
The first wave of Agaricus bisporus mushrooms sown in early September will appear in mid-to-late October. Pay attention to effectively replenishing water to the bed after the mushrooms have appeared to facilitate the second wave of mushrooms.
4. Fungus
Due to the large temperature difference, the growth rate of both black fungus and hairy fungus slows down. Do not spray too much water at this time to extend the growth period and maximize the yield.
5. Shiitake Mushrooms
The high temperature type shiitake mushrooms are entering the final stage of management. As the temperature becomes lower and the temperature difference becomes larger, the quality of the shiitake mushrooms will be improved. However, it should be noted that after the last soaking in early October, strengthening the low temperature management can grow a batch of high-quality fresh mushrooms. Then the greenhouse should be cleaned and disinfected. At the end of October, the mushroom bags of the low temperature type shiitake mushroom strains can be moved into the greenhouse.
