What is the reason why the Shiitake Mushrooms sticks do not change color?
There are three factors worthy of our attention. One is that the moisture content of the bag material is too small when the fungus sticks are produced, and the other is that the number of puncture holes is too large or the puncture holes are too large, and the color-changing water is quickly volatilized. The last one is during the color change period after the puncture, when the temperature is lower than 15 or higher than 28 degrees Celsius.
So in the face of these fungus sticks that change color too slowly, is there any product that can be improved? This is an idea of some friends. For now, there is no product that can help improve or promote the rapid color change of the fungus sticks. When we encounter such fungus sticks, we can only make reasonable control based on the status of our own fungus sticks, the temperature and humidity in the shed.
Under normal circumstances, the water content of the compost and mycelium should be greater than or equal to 55%, and the ambient air humidity on the surface of the mycelium should reach about 80%. If the water content is lower than 50%, or the surface humidity of the mycelium is lower than 75%, then there will be no color change or slow color change. So what we can do now is to control the temperature at 20-25°C, and increase the humidity reasonably according to our actual situation!
