What are the cultivation materials for Stropharia Rugosoannulata?
Wine cap stropharia is best cultivated in the autumn season, as it thrives when temperatures remain stable below 25°C. The cultivation process can utilize a wide range of locally available materials, including various crop straws, hard materials, and fermented farmyard manure.
For optimal growth, culture materials such as rice straw, wheat straw, soybean straw, peanut straw, rice husk, sugarcane bagasse, corn cobs, and corn stalks are commonly used. Additionally, materials like wood chips, bamboo powder, wood shavings, and manure from chickens, cows, or pigs can also serve as suitable substrates. Before sowing, it is important to pre-wet the culture materials: crop straws should be soaked for 3-5 days, while harder materials need 7-15 days. Farmyard manure, sugarcane bagasse, corn cobs, and corn stalks with higher sugar content must be fully fermented, requiring turning of the piles twice during the process.
Before sowing, ensure that the culture material meets the following criteria: a moisture content of 70%, a pH value between 5 and 7, and that it is either sufficiently pre-wetted and softened or fully fermented. The following are some recommended ratios of culture materials:
● 100% straw
● 40% corn cob, 20% rice husk, 20% straw, 18% wheat bran, 2% lime
● 70% straw, 13% sawdust, 10% corn cob, 5% wheat bran, 2% lime
● 60% corn stalk, 20% rice husk, 13% sawdust, 5% wheat bran, 2% lime
● 60% bacterial bran, 13% sawdust, 10% corn cob, 8% rice husk, 7% wheat bran, 2% lime
These ratios serve as guidelines for preparing a balanced and nutrient-rich substrate for growing wine cap stropharia.
